After graduating with a Business Engineering degree, Maarten Callaert, chief operating officer and co-founder of Paperbox.ai, started working at a major data and analytics consulting firm in Belgium. He decided to join AI services consulting firm ML6 in its early days and grew it to a team of more than 70 FTEs in less than three years. His time at ML6 exposed him to the insurance sector where he identified a lot of process inefficiencies within their mailroom operations. He also noticed a gap in the solutions available in the market back then, which led him and his co-founders to start Paperbox.ai and build the insurance mailroom of the future. Callaert has led the charge in capturing 20% of the market share in their home market, with a YOY growth of 97% in 2023, while remaining bootstrapped and profitable.
