Jean Finnegan is Vice President, P&C Customer and Business Innovation within the Enterprise Innovation & Digital Office (EIDO). In her role, she leads the team that drives forward growth objectives of the P&C businesses by identifying, validating, building, and scaling new business unit-level opportunities. Her responsibilities include new products, services, and business models leveraging the collective expertise and capabilities across EIDO and partner teams.
Prior to leading P&C Customer and Business Innovation Jean was responsible for establishing Nationwide’s Innovation function with Nationwide Financial launching in market tests of direct-to-consumer financial solutions. In addition to her DTC work, Jean supported the core business lines in developing value added services that were instrumental in differentiating NW and created culture building training programs in partnership with the Ohio State University Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Jean joined Nationwide in 2008 and was, at that time, responsible for all market research and analytics for Nationwide Financial as well as Allied Insurance, Titan Insurance, and Nationwide Agriculture.
Jean has over 25 years of product development, marketing research, and consulting experience focused on the investment, retirement, and wealth markets. Prior to Nationwide, she was part of many industry leading initiatives including the launch of on-line trading platforms and the restructuring of private client groups and family offices.
In addition to her work at NW, Jean is an active member of the Columbus start-up community and mentors through the Ohio State BVMS program. She currently mentors DASISimulations LLC an early-stage analytic company focused on improving outcomes for patients with heart disease. Jean is also active in Ohio Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
Jean earned her MBA with a dual concentration in finance and marketing from The University of Connecticut. She holds a BA (honors) in economics from Colgate University and attended the University of Madras (Chennai).
